Uniform Policy

UNIFORMS

Students are expected to follow the school dress code so that their appearance
does not cause a disturbance, distract, or interfere with the instructional program,
or constitute a health or safety hazard. A student’s clothing should fit
appropriately.

Students shall have the right to dress in accordance with their stated gender
identity and/or expression within the constraints of the school’s dress code.


KINDERGARTEN-8th GRADE

Tops:
 – SOLID DARK tops, black, or navy blue – long or short sleeves.  Bethune hoodies only (no other hoodies are permitted).
–  Shirts/tops MUST cover the student’s full torso with no exposed skin.  No exposed undershirts, tank tops, athletic jerseys or pajamas.
– No hats, ski masks, skullies, durags, bonnets, etc. No hoods should be worn in the building

Bottoms:
–  Solid dark bottoms, black, or navy blue. No denim (jeans) is permitted. No tights, biker shorts, loose shorts shorter than fingertip length, or pajama pants.

Outerwear:
Jackets may not be worn inside of the school building after arrival, but should be stored in lockers.

Shoes:
Rubber sole shoes or sneakers (no open toes). No Crocs, flip flips, sling backs, heeled shoes, or sandals.


Lockers/Lock Rentals

All middle school students will be given a locker for their personal items. Families have the option to rent a lock from the school for $5.00 or provide students with their own by the first day of school. A locker policy will be provided to all families.
